What is a Khanjar Rolex?
A Khanjar Rolex is a Rolex emblazoned with the Omani royal crest, known as the “Khanjar crest,” on the dial and/or caseback. These watches were given as gifts by the Sultan of Oman, Qaboos bin Said Al Said, and delivered by Asprey Jewelers of London. It is believed that Asprey were usually the ones putting the stamp on the Khanjar dials, but it was done with Rolex’s blessing. In fact Rolex apparently provided Asprey with “clean” dials (meaning no “chronometer” text on the bottom half of the dial) for this very purpose. Nowadays, Khanjar Rolex watches are highly collectible.
